Quick answer

What is the Amnesia Blue Head Band strain?

Amnesia Blue Head Band is a feminized hybrid sold by several North American and European seed banks, made by crossing Amnesia with Blue Headband, the Blueberry × Headband strain. Crop King Seeds and Blimburn Seeds list it as a roughly 50/50 hybrid that flowers in 8 to 10 weeks and is harvested outdoors in October. No breeder of record, lab test or SeedFinder, Leafly or AllBud strain entry is published for it, so its THC is only known from seller listings, which run from 10% to 24%.

Genetics & origin

Where does the Amnesia Blue Head Band strain come from?

Amnesia Blue Head Band comes from crossing an Amnesia plant with Blue Headband, a hybrid of DJ Short's Blueberry and Headband. Most sellers describe it as a blend of three famous lines, Amnesia, Blueberry and Headband. Captain Seeds names the Amnesia parent as Amnesia Haze, while Blimburn Seeds lists its wider heritage as Blueberry, 707 Headband, Haze and Afghan Kush.

No breeder has claimed the cross or published a release date, and Blimburn Seeds only says it originated from Amsterdam seed banks. It is now sold under the same name by several shops in Canada, the US and Europe, so seeds from different sources may not share exactly the same parent plants. That is also why seller specs for this strain disagree more than usual.

Is Amnesia Blue Head Band the same as Blue Headband or Blue Amnesia?

No. Amnesia Blue Head Band is a separate cross that uses Blue Headband as one parent. Blue Headband on its own is Blueberry × Headband, which AllBud lists as about 70% indica, and Blue Amnesia is a different hybrid of Blue-family genetics and Amnesia. Sellers describe Amnesia Blue Head Band as more balanced than Blue Headband, with a livelier start.

Both spellings are used. Shops write it as Amnesia Blue Head Band or Amnesia Blue Headband; both names refer to the Amnesia × Blue Headband cross.

Reported effects

Sellers describe Amnesia Blue Head Band as clear-headed and uplifting at first, then relaxing in the body, a mix they pitch for the afternoon. Homegrown Cannabis Co. calls it energizing at normal amounts and warns that large doses can bring sluggishness or mental fog.

  • Uplifted
  • Clear-headed
  • Creative
  • Relaxed
  • Happy

Amnesia Blue Head Band's reported downsides are sluggishness or a foggy head at high doses, plus the usual dry mouth and eyes.

Amnesia Blue Head Band effects come from seller descriptions (Homegrown Cannabis Co., Crop King Seeds, Blimburn Seeds), because independent reviews are scarce. Reactions differ, and nothing here is medical advice.

Grow guide

How do you grow Amnesia Blue Head Band seeds?

Amnesia Blue Head Band seeds grow into medium-height, bushy plants that are easy to moderate to manage: veg for about 4 to 6 weeks, give the wide frame sideways room, trim regularly, and bloom it on a 12/12 schedule for 8 to 10 weeks.

  1. Germinate3–7 days

Amnesia Blue Head Band seedlings can vary because of the three-line family, so start one or two extra if you want to choose.

  2. Vegetate4–6 weeks indoors

The thick frame spreads sideways; top once and tie the branches out with LST or a SCROG net.

  3. Flower8–10 weeks

Expect moderate stretch after 12/12; plants that lean toward the Amnesia side may need the full 10 weeks or a little more.

  4. HarvestWeek 8–10 indoors · October outdoors

Harvest when most trichomes turn cloudy; outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere, aim to finish before late-October weather turns.

Grow tips for Amnesia Blue Head Band

  • Give it side room. Homegrown Cannabis Co. notes a thick frame that needs lateral space, so space Amnesia Blue Head Band plants wider than a single-cola strain.
  • Trim as you go. Regularly clearing crowded inner growth keeps light and air moving through the bushy canopy and lowers mold risk.
  • Short tents work. At about 1.2–1.5 m, Amnesia Blue Head Band suits tents with limited height, especially once it has been topped.
  • Expect some variation. With no published breeder line, a seed batch can lean toward Amnesia or toward Blue Headband; keep a clone of the plant you like best.
  • Raise nutrients slowly. Crop King describes the plant as hungry but somewhat sensitive, so increase feed in small steps and watch the leaf tips for burn.

The taste is elegant and has a strong hash-like smell, reminding me of fresh fruit and luscious berries from a restaurant dessert. and it features gorgeous jade green nugs, cream-colored trichomes covering it, and yellow and orange pistils. I thought if medical marijuana could support my sister when she was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I started rising Amnesia Blue Head Band, and it has helped her situation: after smoking, she feels uplifted and brighter. I use it because I have tension in my existence that Amnesia Blue Head Band helps to alleviate. Growing this was easy, susceptible to common pathogens and mildews, and the plants’ hardiness helped. Plants don’t grow too huge or significant, so it’s an excellent indoor grow but gives a decent yield enough to smoke for a month since I’m not a heavy user.

I enjoy crashing with a large bowl of Amnesia Blue Head at the end of the day. I’m a West Coast native who’s been smoking Amnesia Blue Head since the 1980s. I adore this strain and how relaxing it can be. Great for my days off or before bedtime in the evenings. I grew a few in my basement, where I have a nice setup, and I’m happy to bring this strain to my new lot. Great value for money, with a short flowering period and a ton of nug to take home. I’m on a high and as joyful as I can be! Thank you for taking the time to learn!
